Each year the Spotlight on the Arts Family Day includes music, art-making activities, exhibitions, demonstrations and more.

Family Day 2025

The 2025 Family Day is on Saturday, November 8, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Georgia Museum of Art. For Native American Heritage Month, the Georgia Museum of Art is highlighting the film “Three Thousand” by Inuit artist asinnajaq and the work of native artists in its collection. Visitors can enjoy fun hands-on activities and make their own take-home art project inspired by Indigenous traditions. Special programming by the Community Music School, Children’s Theater, aerial dancers, art students and student groups is included in this month’s Family Day event. 10:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. –  Aerial dancers in the Georgia Museum of Art sculpture garden

10:15 a.m. – 11 a.m. – Instrument petting zoo in Hugh Hodgson School of Music

10:30 a.m. – Children’s Theater in the Georgia Museum of Art auditorium

11 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. – Instrument petting zoo in Hugh Hodgson School of Music

12 p.m. – Community Music School performance in the Georgia Museum of Art auditorium

12:30 p.m. – UGA String Project performance in front of Hugh Hodgson School of Music
